  2. Are you going to comment on the new Liturgical guidelines issued by the Personal ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham? Particularly with regard to the devout reception of Holy Communion? http://www.ordinariate.org.uk/document.doc?id=99

  3. Dear Anon, Thankyou for your invitation to comment on this. Funnily enough in the sacristy this morning, I was shown a hard copy of the document. The rest of us have so much to learn from the ordinariate, particularly about humility.
Do you happen to know how widespread the practice of reception of Holy Communion on the tongue is within the Ordinariate at present?
It would be great if these guidelines could be introduced into every Catholic parish, especially in this Year of Faith.

  4. Just a suggestion. I know that OLPS is a large church and there could have been a lot of people sitting nearer the back, but the first impression from these photos is of mass in a virtually empty church. A bit more strategic positioning by the photographer perhaps!

  5. Dear Anon, there was a little pressure from my friends, so I didn't want them to be out of focus, but you're right....strategic positioning is everything! Also it's always hard to catch all those angels on camera....

  6. Hi Charlie,

I am the new Birmingham and Black Country Rep for the Latin Mass Society and was pointed towards your blog by the former rep. I would like to do a blogpost advertising this mass, which I understand is a weekly low mass on Friday's at 6.30pm at our Lady of Perpetual Succour on the Cannock Road in Wolverhampton. I have already added this mass to the sidebar of regular masses. With your permission, could I use one or two of these photos in the blogpost? Obviously I would link back to the reports on your blog. Could you also let me know if I have all the details of the mass correct.

    Thanks, Louis

  7. Dear Louis, of course you can use the photos! The details are all correct....Mass is preceded by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and Benediction, all beginning at 5.30pm. I don't know whether you have already checked with Father Goodman, I can leave a comment with his contact details on your blog if you like, or if you leave me your email as a comment I can email them to you...I'm obviously really happy for this extra publicity...but feel uncomfortable giving anything the nod when it's not even my parish!! Having said that, I don't know what is my parish anymore!!! It's great that we have a new LMS rep....thanks for taking this on!
    Prayers, Charlie
