Octave of Pentecost

This week is the octave of Pentecost in the 1962 missal.
The octave of Pentecost is the most solemn octave of the Church's year along with Easter.
The Birmingham Oratory is marking this with a low mass every day,
along with their three other daily masses!
I have been privileged to serve all of the octave Masses so far.
Unfortunately we will not be able to go to the one on Saturday, because I have a
piano exam on that day!

The octave of Pentecost was abolished in 1969 (I think!) by Pope Paul VI,
so the novus ordo missal does not celebrate this great octave.
